About me

Malav Bateriwala

After graduating with a degree in Electrical Engineering, I decided to pursue my passion for robotics at KUKA robotics India as an application engineer. After 3 years working in the industry, I decided to pursue a master's degree in Computer Vision and Robotics at the Erasmus Mundus VIBOT course of the European Union. After studying in 3 different countries and Intership at CSIRO Australia, I completed my master's degree. Then decided to pursue my passion for programming and machine learning at Winnow Solutions London as a Machine learning Research Engineer.

Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India

I graduated after 4 years of study in electrical engineering in India. I also did a 6-month internship in companies like Transformers and Rectifiers India Ltd. and Coca-Cola.

2010-2014

KUKA Robotics - Application Engineer

Pune, Maharastra, India

After graduation, I worked as an application engineer for 3 years in KUKA Robotics. I worked on major projects of Tier 1 suppliers and manufacturing industries like the TATA,LnT, ISRO, Ford etc.

Université de Bourgogne - Masters - 1st Semester (Computer Vision and Robotics)

I joined the University of Burgundy for a VIBOT master's degree on scholarship in computer vision and robotics. As a part of Erasmus Mundus I had to travel to 3 different countries for my the course.

Universitat de Girona - Masters - 2nd Semester (Computer Vision and Robotics)

Girona, Spain

For my 2nd Semester, I continued my master's degree programme at the University of Girona. I worked on a projects on 3D reconstruction of underwater objects using stereo cameras and Computer Vision on robots.

Heriot Watt university - Masters - 3nd Semester (Computer Vision and Robotics)

Edinburgh, UK

Continued the 3nd Semester at Heriot-Watt university at Edinburgh, UK. Developed modules for Home Service robot for elderly people which included Computer Vision, Machine Learning and Robotics.

2018 - 2019

CSIRO - Machine Learning Research Intern

Brisbane, Australia

Completed my thesis at CSIRO brisbane lab on investigating different approaches to reduce variance, including subject specific priors, longitudinal constraints, and use of multiple time-points of data for segmentation on MRI for early alzheimer's detection.

Winnow Solutions - Machine Learning Research Engineer

London, UK

Responsible for training Machine learning models for production in a $5 million food waste management business while researching solutions for improving deep learning models, and MLops using the upto technologies
